Kickstart your career

Kickstart jobs scheme

We’re excited to be part of the Kickstart Housing Partnership led by Clarion Housing Group.

We’re offering 40 placements through the government’s job scheme – these roles are open to anyone aged 16-24 (Sovereign resident or not) and currently on Universal Credit.

Please see below for more information about the fantastic placements available and how to apply.

What is the Kickstart scheme?

The government launched Kickstart in response to the impact COVID-19 has had on youth employment opportunities - the number of under 25s applying for Universal Credit increased during the pandemic.

Kickstart placements offer great work experience and could be the pathway to an exciting new career!

How do the placements work and how much do they pay?

Each placement is for 25 hours per week and lasts for six months.

Each role pays minimum wage, but the amount varies depending on your age.

From April 2021, the minimum wage is:

  • Under 18: £4.62ph
  • 18-20: £6.56ph
  • 21-22: £8.36ph
  • 23 and over: £8.91

What roles are available?

We have a real variety of roles on offer across the South and South West of England.

If you’re eligible, you can apply for the following roles through your Jobcentre Work Coach – the closing date is Monday 19 April:

  • Audit and Risk Team Administrator
  • Digital Marketing and Communication Assistant (Home Ownership)
