What is Kickstart?
Kickstart is a programme launched by the government. It gives anyone aged 16-24 on Universal Credit the opportunity to get paid work placements with companies around the country. We hope the experience you gain with us will lead you on to great long-term opportunities - even if it’s outside of Sovereign Housing Association.
What is Sovereign offering?
We have 49 exciting new roles across our business as part of the Kickstart programme. We’ve already secured many talented individuals and are now looking to recruit even more across a variety of roles.
How do the placements work and how much do they pay?
Each job is for 25 hours per week and lasts for six months. Each role pays national minimum wage, but the amount varies depending on your age:
- Under 18: £4.62ph
- 18-20: £6.56ph
- 21-22: £8.36ph
- 23 and over: £8.91

Due to government guidelines for Kickstart Programme, applicants must be aged 16-24 and currently claiming Universal Credit.
This position is based on 25 hours per week (Monday – Friday) and lasts for six months. Work patterns will be discussed at interview.
