Sam, Head of Customer Digital Technologies, said:
I joined Sovereign in early 2013, working as an advisor in the Contact Centre. This position gave me a good grounding of Sovereign's purpose and what we offer our customers.
During my time there I took the opportunity to be part of a Business Improvement project. This then led me to join the Business Improvement team, working with operational teams to optimise their ways of working.
After a year in this role, I joined our IT department as an IT project manager. This is where I really discovered my passion for IT enabled organisational change. The main highlight within this role was leading a large and complex system rationalisation project.
After this I was appointed IT Business Change Project Manager where I took responsibility for the IT deliverables of our merger.
After three and a half years in this role, I moved in my current position, Head of Digital Technology Services. In this role I am accountable for a £5 million digital transformation programme, encompassing the continuous development of our customer portal, roll out of our CRM and an omni-channel contact centre platform.
I've been at Sovereign for almost eight years and I believe the main reason for this is that I've always felt my skills, experience and career aspirations are valued.
Hannah, Contract Manager, said:
I started seven years ago but have been within Property Services for six years. I knew I wanted to get back into maintenance, so I could expand my knowledge and make a difference to our residents.
I started as an asset investment officer and then undertook my HNC in Construction and The Built Environment to further my career. This was funded through a bursary and the Learning and Development team.
I then moved into a trainee contract manager role. I gained a distinction in my HNC and had the opportunity to go for a contract manager role. I was successful and this has led me to expand my knowledge in a number of maintenance related areas and continue to develop my career.
My manager and team have been very supportive in my development and I've enjoyed every step.
