" Village Hotels are responsible and sustainable members of the community in everything we
do. But Village is much more than just a hotel, we're a big part of the local community. Our Village Community campaign is our commitment to being a hub for the local area, where people come together to work, play and rest. We have partnered with 3 celebrity ambassadors who represent the 3 core pillars of promoting a fit & healthy lifestyle, support thriving economies and provide a social and happy place to be. We want to work 'above' and 'beyond' within our community and so we feel our brand initiative supports The Place to be Proud of Awards and this category perfectly" Said Nalin Daud General Manager, Village Hotel
Matthew Buckham, Communities Director, Sovereign said: “Sovereign’s been a big part of Basingstoke since 1995, and we’d like to celebrate that and our proud connection and long standing contribution to the area.
“We’ve tripled investment in our communities over this year, working alongside customers and community groups enabling them to thrive through employment, training, and education opportunities. And our residents’ own projects, charities and initiatives continue to flourish as we open up a new community grants funding programme via the Good Exchange platform. We can’t wait to see the outcomes of all of the great charity work out there in Basingstoke, which is why we’re sponsoring Charity Project of the Year in this years’ Place to be Proud of Awards.”
Nominations can be made online at www.destinationbasingstoke.co.uk. Closing date is 23rd March 2020. Finalists will be invited to the Awards ceremony to be held at The Haymarket Theatre on the 4th June.
