Barry Nethercott joins Sovereign as Interim Chief Financial Officer

Barry Nethercott has been appointed as Interim Chief Financial Officer of Sovereign.

Barry is set to join Sovereign following the imminent departure of the current Interim CFO Rita Akushie, who is taking up a permanent role as CFO with Cancer Research UK in the New Year.

Holding a range of senior roles within different industries, Barry is an experienced CFO and established interim. For the past 10 years he has worked at an executive level at several housing associations including The Guinness Partnership, Southern Housing and, most recently, with Network Homes.

Chief Executive, Mark Washer, said: “I’d like to wish Rita all the best in her new CFO role at Cancer Research UK, it’s a fantastic opportunity for her.

“While we continue our search for a permanent CFO, it’s great to have an experienced and talented executive like Barry joining the team.”

Barry will join Sovereign on 2 January, while recruitment is well underway for a permanent replacement.
