Apply now for £90,000 of Sovereign Housing Association community grants via The Good Exchange

Leading housing association Sovereign is continuing its work with not-for-profit digital fundraising platform The Good Exchange for a further two years.

This means groups and charities running projects within three miles of Sovereign homes, across the South and South West of England, can apply for a share of up to £10,000 of its new £90,000 community grants programme via the platform.

The funding for 2021-2022 will be split across two rounds of £45,000. The first round, which invites applications from projects focusing on health and wellbeing, runs from 1 May 2021 to 30 June 2021.

Round two runs between 1 September 2021 and 31 October 2021, with community cohesion and growth as its theme.

Applications can be made through Sovereign’s page on The Good Exchange and further funding for 2022-23 will be announced later this year.

Rachel Peters, Community Development Officer at Sovereign, said: “In the last two years of working with The Good Exchange, we’ve given over £385,000 in grants to 120 community groups, charities and initiatives, including The Berin Centre in South Oxfordshire, Citizens Advice West Berkshire, and Faithworks Wessex’s homelessness and mental health work in Dorset.

“By continuing to work with The Good Exchange, we can keep giving our communities the funding they need to run projects that really make a difference to people’s lives.”

Julian May, Head of Collaborative Funding for The Good Exchange, added: “We’re delighted that Sovereign has agreed to continue working with us for the next two years. The £129,864 in community grants they awarded last year generated £139,682 in public donations and £457,894 in additional grant funding.

“Every £1 pledged by Sovereign also generated an additional £4.60 of charitable funding, clearly demonstrating how The Good Exchange’s collaborative funding model can help boost fundraising for good causes.”
