Sovereign awarded RoSPA Silver Award for health and safety practices
8 April 2019
One of the south’s largest social landlords, Sovereign Housing Association, has had its approach to occupational safety and health recognised in an awards scheme run by the safety charity, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).
The RoSPA Awards scheme recognises achievement in health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.
It’s the first time that Sovereign has entered the awards since it merged with Spectrum Housing Group in November 2016 and the Property Services team have had their health and safety work nationally recognised.
Sovereign’s Head of Safety Services, Emma Bodium said: “It’s great news that we’ve had our commitment to health and safety recognised with a Silver award for health and safety. The Property Services team work hard to ensure the health, safety and welfare of employees is a top priority for Sovereign.
“It’s the first RoSPA award since we combined organisations and we’ve been in a transition period. It’s a good benchmark for us and something we can build on for the future.”
Sovereign will be presented with the award during a ceremony at Hilton Birmingham Metropole hotel on Thursday, 6 June, 2019.
