Smashing news: homes on the way for Buckskin

8 April 2019

Deeside, an outdated care home in Buckskin, which was decommissioned in 2014, will soon be demolished with some great new affordable homes built in its place.

The site, formerly owned by Hampshire County Council, was sold to Sovereign, paving the way for redevelopment to provide 15 new homes. And last week, following the transfer of land ownership, planning permission to go ahead was granted.

Roger Keeling, Strategic Asset Management Director, Sovereign said: “We’re delighted to be providing these new high quality affordable homes for Buckskin, an area where demand is high. This reflects more than two years working together with local residents, Hampshire County Council and our partners, Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council.”

Completion of this exciting new development of one-bed flats, and two- and three-bed houses is expected in summer 2020.
