Homes swap from LiveWest to Sovereign
22 March 2019
Sovereign Housing Association will take over the ownership, management and maintenance of 90 properties across Wiltshire from fellow housing association LiveWest.
The properties, which include 12 flats and 78 houses, are based in the south-west towns of Chippenham, Marlborough and Swindon. LiveWest made the decision to transfer the stock to ensure that customers and their homes are serviced locally.
Sovereign's commercial director, Micky Cummins, said: “We’ve recently bought the freehold leases of 90 properties in Wiltshire. We’re very pleased to add these homes to our association and since 2005, we’ve sold, bought or swapped nearly 10,000 properties. This is helping us grow, make the most of our assets and provide an efficient and effective service for our customers – that’s around £650m-worth of transactions.”
Sovereign owns and manages 57,000 homes across the south and south west, and has plans to continue to grow through new development and buying homes from other housing associations.
