Income and rents (COVID-19)

We understand it’s a difficult time for many people, but it’s really important that you continue to pay your rent to avoid future financial problems and large debts. If you’re having difficulty making your payments, we do need you to speak to us as soon as possible so that we can help.

There’s some useful information in our FAQs on this page and we have lots of people you can talk to for advice about paying your rent, claiming benefits, trying to find other work and so on.

As everyone’s situation is different, please ring us on 0300 5000 926 and ask to speak to the Income team. Don’t worry on your own – get in touch between 8.30am and 5pm Monday to Friday as we’re here to help. (If you’re a market rent customer, please continue to ring us on 0300 330 9496).

We also have a dedicated team of tenancy support advisors (TSAs) who are available for more complex financial and benefit issues. We know that making a benefit claim will be new to many of you, so our TSAs are there to help you understand what you’re entitled to and how to claim. Please ring us on 0300 5000 926 if you’d like to be referred to this service.

We’re also aware that the government is launching a £500m household support fund for vulnerable households over the winter months. This will be administered by your local council but our teams should be able to tell you more about this too when the details are known.
