From Youth panel to Scrutiny Coordination Group

My name’s Ebony and my engagement journey with Sovereign started last year when we were on the brink of another lockdown.

I joined the Youth panel as I needed something to occupy myself – it was my opportunity to have a new experience and meet other young Sovereign residents.

Sovereign gave us training and opportunities and during one meeting, we met Sovereign’s Scrutiny Coordination Group and we had such a great time.

I loved how I could use my voice in one of their scrutinies and I really did enjoy it because I like to help others as well as have my voice heard to help Sovereign improve their services.

When I found out about the open position in the Scrutiny Coordination Group, I leaped for the chance to be a member.

It was just the perfect fit and being part of the Youth panel helped me discover what I truly wanted to do.

I am so looking forward to this new adventure and I couldn’t have done it without being on the Youth panel. I so hope this panel remains for years to come - every member of the panel has become a great friend.
