Florence House reception

Thinking of joining us?

We’re a not for profit company with a great ethos. We want to make a real difference, by making sure the homes we own and build, and the services we provide allow our residents to live the best life they can.

It’s a really exciting time to join us at Sovereign

As we begin our new five-year strategy, we’re rethinking how we deliver our services in a modern and connected world. Part of this is replacing our 20 out-of-date offices and depots with seven new, modern hubs.

These hubs will offer our employees a great place to work. Where a quick productive chat can replace email, getting together with colleagues over a fresh coffee will keep projects on track. And our technology will support flexible working, so if your role allows, work becomes what you do and not where you go. Whichever hub you work in, it’ll have the same modern, fresh look, feel and facilities.

And it starts this summer. Our central services, customer contact, resolution and experience teams will move to a brand new building in Basingstoke, currently called The Florence Building.

Meanwhile, we’re building a bespoke operational hub in Newbury, West Berkshire. This is where all housing, property, development and community investment teams covering Hampshire and Berkshire will come together when the new building is completed during 2020.

These first two hubs are just the first part of the story. Over the next three years, we’ll bring teams together in modern hubs across our operating area across the south west, including the Isle of Wight, so all our employees will have a new, fantastic place to work.

Mark Washer, Sovereign’s Chief Executive, said: “Our new approach to the workplace is both modern and affordable, reflecting the latest thinking on workplace design so we can work differently, attracting and retaining the best people.

“This move is part of our wider strategy to work in a more agile and productive way, with residents and customers at the heart of what we do. By bringing teams together and putting our customer contact service teams in the centre of our organisation, we’ll be better placed to deliver a greater customer and employee experience.”
