Inspiring you to be yourself

It’s important to so many people that their workplace is somewhere they can bring their whole self and be valued and appreciated for who they are.

It’s important to us too. In fact, it’s fundamental to our ambitions that we bring diverse ideas, a rich variety of experience and a range of knowledge to the table.

That’s why we’re working to show leadership in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in the housing sector and beyond.

We’re creating a representative workforce that reflects our customer base and ambitions for the future. We’re inspiring you to be yourself, so your wellbeing at work is the best it can be.

We do this by making sure our EDI ambitions are led from the very top, by equipping our leaders with the tools they need to take our vision forward.

We also have a great set of values to guide us and an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) strategy that makes up a key part of the Sovereign culture.

There’s always more to be done and our future plans for EDI depend on our work community. So, if you're passionate about EDI you'll find plenty of opportunities to get stuck in and shape what we do.

How do we embrace EDI?

Equal opportunities employer

We’re accredited Gold Investors in People - we treat people fairly regardless of their sex, age, disability, gender identity, marital status, pregnancy, race, religion or sexual orientation.

Flexible work approaches

We offer family friendly policies, flexible working approaches and run regular internal campaigns to get people talking about diversity in their teams.

EDI Forum

A group of employees and residents meets regularly to discuss our approach to equality, diversity and inclusion, as well as setting targets for us to work towards.

Employee resource groups

You’re encouraged to find like-minded colleagues and are invited to join one of our many groups such as our CAAN and LGBTQ+ groups.

Disability Confident Employer

We’ve committed to inclusive and accessible recruitment as well as ensuring we have support in place to progress and retain the right people.

Women in Trades

We have a programme to increase the number of women in our trade roles. We've gained gold membership with Women in Construction too.
