The West Berkshire Neighbourhood Wardens, supported by Sovereign Housing Association, which patrols Tilehurst, Holybrook, Purley on Thames and Theale, recently won Sovereign Housing Group's prestigious team of the year award. This follows on from the team's Senior Neighbourhood Warden Allan McIntyre winning Sovereign Housing Group’s employee of the quarter award earlier in the year.
The Neighbourhood Wardens, supported by Sovereign Housing Association, provide a visible presence within local communities and improve the quality of life for local people by focusing on crime, anti-social behaviour and environmental issues.
The team of the year award was made in recognition of the hard work that all members of this team had put in during the previous 12 months to make the areas in which they work more pleasant places to live for all residents, the team frequently going above and beyond the call of duty to get the job done.
Ann Santry, Chief Executive for Sovereign Housing Group, noted, "Since its inception the Neighbourhood Warden scheme has been a resounding success, recognised and appreciated in West Berkshire for the very important work it does. This award is a testament to the value that the Wardens add both to the Sovereign Group and to the wider community, and it is well deserved."
