Sovereign South+West is committed to working hard to provide homes and create neighbourhoods where people want to live. As part of this Sovereign obtained a injunction order on 16 June with a power of arrest against Mr Vaughan Cox and Ms Sonya Moss.
Sovereign worked swiftly to prepare an emergency injunction after they were made aware that vulnerable residents were put at risk by Mr Cox and Ms Moss having taken over their accommodation. There were also reports that both people had been responsible for a number of problems at Howarth Court. Both of these events made it clear that there was a need to provide measures to prevent them from the area to ensure community safety. Sovereign then obtained an emergency injunction on 9 June and the full injunction hearing on 16 June then backed up this decision.
The injunction order issued by Newbury County Court states that Mr Cox and Ms Moss are not to enter The Nightingales, Cheriton Close, Greenlands Road, Hamilton Close and Westlands Road in Newbury. These injunctions will continue until 16 June 2012.
Rebecca Horne, Anti-Social Behaviour Advisor for Sovereign South+West, noted, “We are very pleased that we were able to act so swiftly to protect these residents from people who had no right to take over their flat and cause them such harm. We would urge anyone who is aware of either of these individuals entering the area around Howarth Court to inform us and the police immediately.”
