Sovereign South+West moves forward with its plans for a new development at Hungerford

Date: 19 July 2010

Sovereign South+West

Sovereign South+West is focused on providing a range of high quality for its residents. As part of Sovereign recently held a public consultation on 10 June for a proposed new development in Hungerford. Following on from this public consultation, Sovereign South+West in conjunction with the architect Hunters & Partners, are in the process of amending some of the elevations to reflect the feedback and responds to residents’ concerns.

The new development aims to be constructed to a very high standard with two individual buildings. The first one will have 28 apartments for the over 55s with the second one having 46 apartments for extra care provision. These will be a mixture of one and two-bedroom apartments, and as most of them will have balconies or patios there will also be an excellent outdoor environment for residents as well.

Sovereign’s intention is now to submit an application for planning during July 2010. As soon as the architect has completed the amendments to the extra care building further details will be added to the Sovereign Group website and also the website for Sovereign South+West so that residents can be kept up-to-date.

Lorraine Adams, Housing Project Officer for Sovereign South+West, noted, “Sovereign was really pleased to get feedback from residents at the recent public consultation for Hungerford. After listening to their views Sovereign is now slightly modifying the design plans to suit their needs. Sovereign is also really pleased to now be in a position to move to the planning application stage and to offer an excellent new development for the benefit of older residents.”
