Our management structure

Various management boards and committees meet regularly to decide how the group's businesses should be run. Day-to-day management is undertaken by the Group Management Team and our staff at various offices.

Ann Santry has worked in housing since 1980. She is currently a board member of the National Housing Federation (NHF) and a member of the South East Regional Housing Board. In the past she has been Chief Executive of the Swaythling Housing Society in Southampton, Development Director for the Guinness Trust and she has also had development roles for Notting Hill and the Newlon Housing Trust in London.

Ann Santry joined the Sovereign Housing Association as Chief Executive in 1999 and became Group Chief Executive in 2005.

Phil Stephens has 25 years of experience in the private housing sector in which time he has built up extensive contacts in the south east and south west. He started out as a quantity surveyor in 1974 and has worked for Maxim Homes. He has also been a director at Wilmott Dixon Housing.

Phil joined Sovereign in 2003 as Head of New Business, and was promoted to Development Director in 2006. He now leads the 65 strong team comprising development, asset management, architects and home ownership. Phil is in charge of delivering 900 new homes a year on behalf of the three Sovereign subsidiaries, plus two smaller associations we build on behalf of.

Martin Huckerby trained in local government and worked in local authorities before becoming Deputy Finance Director for Newbury District Council in 1985. He is also a member of CIPFA.

He joined the Sovereign Housing Association as Finance Director in 1989 and became Group Finance Director in 2005. Since he has been at Sovereign he was involved in the successful stock transfer negotiation for SHA with NDC and helped to put relevant funding in place and set up SHA's Finance Department.

Paul Crawford has worked in the social housing sector for the past 19 years and has gained a detailed understanding of the sector, including the delivery of excellent customer service and the provision of new homes. He is a graduate of town planning and he is also a member of the RICS. He has also been a member of the NHF South West Executive since 2003.

Paul joined Sovereign in 1994 and has carried out a variety of roles including Head of Development, Housing Director and Customer Services Director. Paul has now been Managing Director of the Sovereign Housing Association since 2005, which is a subsidiary of the Sovereign Housing Group with over 13,500 homes in management. The group operates in south central and south west England and owns and manages around 23,000 homes.

Marion Franks used to work at the Housing Corporation where she held a number of different senior posts in the regional offices. She was Regional Director for the south east region when she left in 2001.

Marion joined Twynham in 2003 and was Operations Director until the new group structure in 2005. Prior to joining Twynham she held various interim roles at ASRA Greater London Housing Association including Acting Chief Executive.

Prior to coming to the housing sector Steve spent twenty years in local government. He is a qualified accountant (CIPFA) and specialised in housing finance during his time in the public sector.

He was initially seconded to the Vale Housing Association to jointly oversee its emergence as an independent business at the time of the transfer of the housing stock from the Vale of the White Horse District Council in Oxfordshire. With the completion of the transfer in 1995 he became the Director of Finance and Administration at the Vale, with responsibility for all central support services.

In April 2007 when Vale joined the Sovereign Housing Group Steve became the Managing Director of the Vale Housing Association.
