2012 Construction Commitments
The 2012 Construction Commitments, developed by industry experts and the Government to set the standards for the construction of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, define current best practice in construction procurement.
The Sovereign Development Consortium has developed a framework to ensure compliance with the Construction Commitments, which demonstrates continuous improvement, sharing of best practice and turning strategy into action. Setting an exemplary example, as held up by the HCA, we are following the principles that encourage continuous improvement in managing our supply chain: to work with our supply-chain partners to identify and realise efficiencies, reduce risk and share savings.
We measure our progress against the Construction Commitments and identify ways to improve – to be smarter, faster and more efficient. And our work is delivering results. Working as part of the Sovereign Development Consortium, we have saved approximately £1.8 million historically, and identified potential annual savings of up to £1.5 million per year.
