Sovereign South+West
Sovereign South+West, previously known as Sovereign Housing Association, was established in 1989 when it was given 7,109 homes in a large-scale voluntary transfer from Newbury District Council, now known as West Berkshire Council. We currently own and manage approximately 14,000 high quality, affordable homes throughout the south west of England.
With our customers at the forefront of everything we do, we continually work with residents, local partners and specialist agencies to meet residents’ changing needs and improve our services. Our success has been acknowledged by the Housing Corporation, whose audit commission ranked Sovereign South+West as one of the best-run social landlords in the country.
We are a charitable, Registered Social Landlord and any profit we make goes back into building new homes and improving our resident services.
Sovereign Twynham
Sovereign Twynham, previously know as Twynham Housing Association Ltd, was established in 1989 as the Industrial and Provident Society and Housing Association. In 1991 we received 1,600 homes in a large scale voluntary transfer from Christchurch Borough Council.
In April 2005 we became one of the founding members of the Sovereign Housing Group alongside Sovereign South+West who transferred its 1039 homes in Dorset and south Hampshire to us under a management agreement.
We have a ‘preferred partner’ status with local authorities in Dorset and Hampshire where we own and manage more than 4,000 high quality, affordable homes for rent and low-cost home ownership. This includes properties let under our private sector leasing scheme, where we lease properties from owners and landlords in the private sector and let them to homeless families and other people in housing need.
We are a charitable, Registered Social Landlord and any profit we make goes back into building new homes and improving our resident services.
Sovereign Vale
Sovereign Vale was established in February 1995 when it took over the ownership of all 5,000 units of the Vale of White Horse District Council’s housing stock.
In April 2007, we became a member of the Sovereign Housing Group.
Vale’s success has led to our ‘preferred partner’ status across local authorities in Oxfordshire and South Northamptonshire where we own and manage 6,500 high quality homes for low cost rent and home ownership. This equates to one in ten of all the homes in the Vale of White Horse, where we are also one of the ten largest businesses in the District.

Kingfisher HVHS
Kingfisher HVHS Housing Association (KHV) was formed on 1 July 2009 as the result of an amalgamation between HVHS Housing Group and Kingfisher Housing Association, both of whom were well established housing associations in their own right.
We joined the Sovereign Housing Group in July 2009.
Kingfisher KHV owns and manages more than 7,000 homes across Hampshire, with the majority of our properties located in and around Basingstoke.
